I've been using this ride since 2019 and it is perfect for groves and metal sound.
Rich ringing sound and great sustain make all the dead come alive again, especially at the boring gigs. The Bell is a really mighty one, reminds me of the sound of the church bell. It seems too much loud for the small rooms and able to stun all the other band members but perfectly fits in gigs. This blast maker is a bit heavier than other ride cymbals, it is thicker than other rides I had before.
Due to the great Bell area, requires a little bit more control because sound of drumming in various areas of this cymbal is different.
If you are not in smooth jazz or soft rock and prefer more blastbeats in common, you want to have this ride. Or you can use it as an additional cymbal in your pack.
Total:
+ Rich sound for hard rock and metal
+ Wake The Dead Bell
+ Blastbeat monster
+ 18-inch only
+ Good as an additional cymbal (for the big set) or main in the metal set
- Mostly non-crushable
- Heavyweight
- Will not replace most rock rides in most situations
