Meinl Gong Stand Wood Medium

I read previously reviews about the gong stands and decided to go with this one. I'm so glad I did.
I work in different locations and needed a stand that was easy to carry, transport, put together and dismantle. Thankfully this one ticks all the boxes.
I use it with an 82cm gong which fits nicely with a few cm's either side. I was initially worried the gong would be too big for it, it's not. It's a great fit with room to move.
The stand has a lovely look to it, with a thick wooden frame which makes it very stable. Another concern. How stable would it be with an 82cm gong. Its great. Obviously when the gong is in full flow and swinging a little it pushes the stand to its full range with the occasional creak from the hinges connecting the floor panels to the arm panels. It's expected and isn't obvious to anyone else in the room other than me. I originally placed a hand on the top connecting beam to stop this from happening which it does but it is a minimal sound, I was just being over cautious.
Love this stand, very pleased with it and definitely recommend it.
I'd love a travel bag but can understand how difficult that would be with the shape of the parts.

I bought this because it's made of wood and had good reviews. I can only say that those were a bit misleading because the structural stability of the stand is not great. I suspected this by looking at the design.
Where the legs meet the feet is a major weak spot, fixed with wood screws into the end-grain of the legs. However I reinforced this and after a year it's holding up well. The hooks where the gong hangs also needed a bit of attention to get them straight and even.
I only ever intended this stand to be used at home so it suits me well, now I've modified it. I use a demountable metal stand, which has much greater structural stability, when I take the gong [a 32"] out to workshops.
