Easier than a bass drum, but..
Oskar Rolstad Buvarp 12.03.2022
It works for singer songwriter stuff, or other acoustic shows (when the drummer cant join the gig-kind of situation).

And here is the but: it sounds so incredibly much better with a Shure 91 A kickdrum-mic under a flight-lid, or something else with a boxy shape. (A box)........

This stompbox sounds very small, no matter how i EQ, or even put a sub-octave effect after it. You CAN make it usable, but its a waste of time and money compared to a Kick-drum mic and a box over it.

Originaly I bought this for triggering a side-chain input on my stereo sidechain compression pedal (its called «the pill pedal»). And the stompbox nailed that purpose. I also splitted the signal and sent it into a noise gate side chain input.

So it depends on your needs. As a piezo-trigger, go for it. As a substitute for kick-drum, i would have bought a low-profile kick-drum mic. Like the shure 91🙏

RL
A huge disappointment
Radoslaw L. 12.10.2020
It looks fabulous, i'll give it that and only that.
The sound is very poor, sounds like a horseshoe clonk at best.
Even when EQ'd really well, it really just sounds.. bad, no other way to put it. If you're looking for more of a deeper sound, stay away from this.

Disappointed
Andy691 17.01.2022
Great service from Thomann but for the price the sound is not good when played with the guitar plugged in. Very basic bass sound that needs a lot of eq to sound ok. So, it needs a separated channel on the mixer. It's not for me

Good
Chris with broken guitar 20.10.2022
Nice build quality, nice looks, I really don't like the sound, when it's not eq'ed it sounds like knocking on a door. With enough eq it sounds really good

Treble-Heavy and over all not great

Poor sound for live setting, never enjoyed using it. I recommend the Roland SPD stomp instead

Mahogany as a kick drum?
Marlemeister 01.11.2024
Nice materials, great structure and overall ergonomic with a great feel. Good entry level foot precision stomp box, but nothing more than what you would expect. The input comes directly from the piezzo pickup with the classic sound they produce and a lot of sharp eq is needed to achieve an ok mix. Not fit for professional environments or big venues, but it is what someone would expect for this price range. Fits well as a rythm practice tool for acoustic guitarits, and mainly folk - country musicians that would like to add a little something to fill their sound.
