At the time I bought this, it was great value as its nearest competitors were a lot more expensive.
However this has changed and now you can find very good similar stands of better quality for around the same price from more known brands.
As for the stand itself, it is built very well. It is heavy, sturdy, and the clamping mechanism is mostly good. I have had the clamps "go" on me a couple of times when playing which required a re-tightening - ie, it lost tension over time and gave way eventually....once during a gig! It is a rare occurrence and remembering to tighten it once every 6 months should do you fine.
9 years ago when I bought the stand, I could over past this as it was cheaper than the rest and it does do its job well overall to be fair.
But last year I did buy a DW stand for the same money from my local shop and never once has it lost tension or given any trouble.
Long story short: It is a good stand, but for its today price, you may be able to get something more reliable for similar money.
