As a traveling musician on a budget, I've used these cymbal arms in many different ways and seen them used in many more. I personally use mine for splash cymbals since I didn't feel like taking big risks with them at first, but after playing with them for a while and seeing them on other drummers' kits, I see how strong they can be. Most recently I used one to support a full-weight 22" ride without issue.
All in all, as long as you use it correctly and tighten things down well, there shouldn't be any issues, but I have had my own shift in the middle of shows before. Nothing catastrophic, fortunately, but it could have been bad news for my cymbal if it had slipped any further.
Pros:
- Pretty solid when used correctly
- Can support a variety of instruments/cymbals
- Can fit into most positions needed on most kits
Cons:
- (Personally) Not a fan of screwing cymbals on from the top
- Rubber bottom easily lost
- Some issues with slipping/shifting with heavy/constant use
