(Snare) Stand By Me
Germerican Guitarist 14.02.2022
Full disclosure for this review, I've been a guitarist for almost 20 years and have only recently begun to satisfy my inner 13-year old by learning how to play the drums. While I have a general understanding of devices and mechanics, my drumming-specific experience is a bit limited. Please consider the following with that in mind.

Originally I bought this stand solely to hold a practice pad with the intention that I would move it into a kit when ready. I've had some experience with repetitive stress injuries brought on by poor body mechanics in the past, so I wanted to make sure that I was doing things properly with my daily practice. A basket-style snare stand seemed like the best way to make sure I don't develop any bad posture habits and the other reviews made it seem like the Millenium Prod series was a solid bet. I did waffle back and for quite a bit on whether this was *really* necessary or a bit overkill for practicing, but man am I glad I pulled the trigger.

Pros:
-This is one chunky boi and sturdy as heck. I haven't attempted it, but I bet you could drop this down a flight of stairs and it would be just fine at the bottom.
-The rubber pads of the drum "claw" and the bottom of the stand feet are serious business and don't look like they're going to wear out anytime soon.
-Position adjustment is fairly straightforward.
-Once the position is set, I've not had any issues with the position sliding out of place, even after several hours of practice or physically moving the stand around.

Cons:
-This is a hefty stand. While that's definitely a pro, this isn't exactly lightweight and easy to transport.
-It would be nice if you could adjust the "fingers" of the claw without a tool, but this is a pretty minor inconvenience.
-As with many budget device options, QA has a tendency to overlook small things. The tension bolt for height adjustment that arrived with my stand was significantly bent and was not able to hold the stand at any height. It was easy enough to bend this back into the correct shape and I don't have any problems with the stand holding height.

All in all, I think this was a great purchase and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a durable stand that provides more adjustment options than the standard fare.

Takes a real beating

We purchased this as a spare stand for a busy live venue and boy has it come in useful. With the kit being used increasingly often, this stand has taken a real pounding and it still moves and adjusts like the day it arrived. No siezing up of the hinges, no instability in the base.
Whilst there were more expensive optons the build and adaptability of this seemed ideal and it seems we were right.
It might be a little unglamorous for some drummers' tastes and perhaps not a first choice for a pro but where in-house kits and repeated public use are concerned, the double brace legs, wellmade lugs and robust hinges have all stood up admirably to some heavy treatment from some powerful players. All that for a distinctly reasonable price tag.

Millennium SS-901X Pro Series Snare Stand
Ian942 24.06.2013
Fantastic Snare stand really heavy duty
well worth the money great adjustment
features and memory locks
easy set up and adjustment on gigs
Ive had problems in the past with other make snare stands
not with the Millennium SS-901X Pro Series Snare Stand
Set up was a breeze no fingerling around under the snare stand to tighten
the snare basket the large adjustment knob on the front of the stand was so easy to use and tighten love the adjustment on the ends of the snare basket so you can tailor it to fit your snare like a glove .
The omniball adjustment is so use full as you can really get the adjustment you want
better features than snare stands 3 times it price
as i have owned them by far the best snare stand ive owned

This is absolutely insane quality for the price (that went up more than 40% in 5 years but it's still totally worth every single cent).
Sturdy, fully adjustable, very well made and reliable, buy it blindly!

Heavy Duty, very recommended

This was my first millennium product and so was a little dubious about the low price and very mixed reviews across all product ranges.

However, I have found this to be a great product, and for the price, great value!

I play a mapex black panther 12" snare and hate the way 14" baskets don't angle right, sitting the rim on a slope. The tilting ability of the basket claws resolve this issue and the snare sits flat on the basket.

This is heavyweight, so keep this in mind if keeping weight down is a must for you. As everything is beefy, it's extremely stable.

If there's any negative points, it's that to get the stand really low, you have to open up the legs really wide, which may impact on your positioning, depending on your setup. But really this is a very minor issue.

I would say I would but this again if it broke... But alas it won't!

Strong and reliable

I initially bought this stand for one of my 12 inch e-toms. Great stand for the money, I had to get another one for my snare. It can be set to any angle, thanks to the ball system, which I find really handy, quick and reliable.
As usual, delivery was fast.
Both times, I was really pleased with my purchase.
Would recommend.

Was not expecting that

Bought this snare stand for my Sonor 10 x 2 snare as it was the only snare stand which would take a 10" snare at an affordable price.

I was very surprised when the product arrived, it is probably the most solid snare stand i've had so far, it is infinitely adjustable and can put the snare at whichever angle you prefer thanks to the ball clamp.

It is quite durable and hard wearing, I've been gigging regularly with this stand for the past 4 years and still no signs of rust or ageing. Only downfall is that it's a bit fiddly when it comes to all wing nuts and basket adjustments, but at the price I wouldn't even look at any other snare stand

King of budget stands
AurisJazz 01.06.2023
Millenium stands amazes me more and more. Ball joint is solid and very convienient for setup/adjusment of snare drum positioning. Very nice feature is the ability to adjust the angle of the claws, that touches the drum, very neat for smaller snares/toms. Rock solid and quite heavy. Only con is that it does not fold compactly, I reccomend removing the basket from the ball joint spike, only 2 screws and you can fit it more nicely in your hardware case/bag.
