Nektar Impact GX 61

I bought this product for making music at home for fun. And start to learn, how to play keyboard/piano.

I tried some quality electronic keyboard before, but this is the first one i own. I bought it for the price. and 61 key should be more then enough for me.

Pro:
- Price
- More feature that i will ever use.
- Easy install and i can use it for violin sound, hammond organ etc.
- Much more then a regular piano.
- Relative small size(for me)
Con.:
- A little more detailed users guide would be better imo.

Overall for the price to quality, it is a very great product. Wit some easy setup (velocity) etc. it can be a super companion during music making.

PROs:
Design looks neat.
Sturdy.
Mod Wheel Pitch whee work fine.
No excessive 10 knobs that wastes my desk space. A keyboard and a keybaord only is what I want.

CONs:
The touch is rather hard. It is a common problem on low end full-weight MIDI keyboard. As a piano player, the touch is rather plastic and unfriendly to my hands. I will get sore after playing it for 30 mins. I will have to adapt my finger energy to play a more dynamic piece. It is difficult to get consistent soft touch.

At this price point, it is what it is. If I had more space in my room, I would go for the StudioLogic Studio/Grand.

I already had the little version of this one (LX25+) to experiment with MIDI and virtual instruments. I was/am happy with that one but I wanted one with 61 keys to play with two hands. I have a digital piano that I can use as a MIDI controller but some instruments (e.g. organs and synths don't feel good with weighted keys. The LX25+ worked seamlessly with Reaper, so I stuck with Nektar and got the GX61.

I was considering the LX61 to replace the 25, but I'm glad I went with the simpler GX61, which has no pads or knobs (except volume). I have used the pads on the LX25+ but I never bothered to set up the other controls for any virtual synths or whatever.

The GX61 is a very basic controller but it works well. Sometimes I wish it had aftertouch but that's a bit much to ask from such an affordable product. The keys feel nice, maybe a bit cheap but not like they will break anytime soon. Honestly, all unweighted keys feel cheap to me compared to my piano so that's not really a criticism.

One minor negative is that it's tricky to use the functions without consulting the manual, e.g. changing the velocity curve. Once you know, you know, but it's not very intuitive.

I highly recommend this if you just need a MIDI controller with keys and pitch/mod wheels and nothing else.

This is my first midi-keyboard ever, so since i have nothing to compare with, ill just describe my first impressions after a day of using this keyboard.
First it has good looking minimalistic design. I like it. Solid build and nice synth action keys. Work as plug and play, no drivers required. I just plug it to my laptop, opened my daw and started to work immediately.
About keys quality, its nice, but obv they are not for piano players, so if you're after expressive performance forget it. But for me keys do their job.
Features: again me i just need to put midi info in my daw and transport controls, plus mod wheel. GX61 has it all.
And of course last but not least...Price. For that quality and features its a really nice price. I dont think you get something better for that price, So thats why i chose Nektar GX61.
Pros: Price, keys quality also good like 4 out of 5, solid build and all features that i need.
