I wasn't expecting what is pictured to actually arrive, but it did. What you get is exactly what is shown, including the yellow locking tab. If there is a reason why it is yellow then the reason escapes me - is it a recent attempt to differentiate the originals from the compatibles? Whatever the reason, personally I prefer the look of the ones with silver locking tabs.
However, the colour isn't the main point for buying a connector. The job of this is to carry power and it should do that very well. It is an original Neutrik connector and the great thing about PowerCon is that they lock. I have always liked Neutrik connectors and this is another good looking and functioning one. I don't have much experience of them yet, but so far I've very happy with them.
There is one thing to bear in mind when considering these connectors and I mention it so that you make decisions with all of the facts: there is no such thing as a cable socket. You can't build an extension cable because the cable socket connector you would need to do so isn't a part of the specification of the connectors. In order to join two cables you need to use a little box with an A type on one end and a B type on the other - they are made, but in my opinion they are a little, um, unattractive.
