Versitile and infinitley useful

With rack units, one of the biggest issue is reaching inside to run various cables. Whilst 3/4" jack and XLR already have standard D-Type sockets, USB, Firewire, and D-Sub never really did. That was till Neutrik came along with a range of great D-Type data connectors, and this one is no exception.

The USB-W is a reversible A/B adaptor housed in a D-Type suitable enclosure. It's screw attatched, and the external metalwork has a grounding pin, allowing for it to be connected to a chassis ground, however this is optional so if your cables run as a 4+Ground setup, you dont have to worry about it interfering with the data.

It's a robust connector, durable, and will happily suit any requirments for a D-Type USB connector.

The connectors appear to be sturdy and the reversible design is great but in my experience they do not last very long. I have already replaced two, as the connections to my Line 6 gear became intermittent very quickly

Easy to reverse

Another good Neutrik product. Very easy to reverse the USB connection, simply undo the screws and flip the barrel around. I would suggest using these in a panel with a lacing bar to help support the 'internal' USB cable, but that's not a fault of the connector, more that USB plugs always have a bit of play to them.

Practical USB connector for your rack

I'm in the midst of setting up a rack with recording equipment and gear for my guitar and bass. I was looking a way to conceal the USB connections of all several devices inside the rack, so I would only have one single USB port coming out to the PC, and this little connector was exactly what I was looking for.

I also love the fact that you can change which connector is facing out, so you're not bound to only the USB-A connector in the front. For instance, I'd rather have the USB-B side facing outwards, in order to keep the convention of only having all USB-A cable ends connected to the PC

Of course it is, it's a Neutrik !!
& yes, i love their stuff : in MANY years playing live or rehearsing i have NEVER had anything of them failing on me
This one was purchased to build a pedal controller for GarageBand's transport functions & saves me the hassle of having to get a custom built USB cable
Super clever bit of kit & high quality through & through...

This is just perfect! It has some resistance so normal USB are really held in firmly.

Solid and versatile

I needed the reverse of how they are despatched so can confirm it's easy enough to switch them round. Undo a screw, flip the barrel and screw it back together. Feels nice and solid, and no issues so far connecting to my Helix.
