A
Great little unit.
Anonymous 10.02.2017
This is a great little turntable for scratching and sampling. As a previous user of 1210s etc, I missed the feel of scratching on vinyl. Scratching works better with specific 7" scratch records due to the size.

Sound quality of the phono outputs is clear without any grounding noise issues.

The built in fader is sharp and good for certain fast scratches. I use plugged into a Denon mc6000 mixer so i tend to use both.

Cons. Built in speakers are quite loud although could be better. The slipmatt is a bit thin too.

Note for UK buyers: the plug adapter thomann sent did not fit the plug so i had to use a shaver adapter i had. No biggie though.

Great phono for scratching on the road
Martin Looter 17.01.2018
The Numark PT-01 Scratch is a sturdy but very portable record player with a crossfader switch for scratching. It can play 12" records but for scratching I would recommend 7" vinyls. I wish it had more integrated functions for dvs, because it can be connected to your phone via usb using camera kit connector or otg adapter to control apps such as Edjing Mix. To control the app I use 7" serato timecode vinyls which are perfect for the PT-01 Scratch.

It would be great if it was possible to route audio from your digital device back through the crossfader so it would become more portable as a dvs controller. Now I have to use an external crossfader to cut the audio from my phone.

The tonearm is a bit light and has to be modded to get better needle pressure. Also the needle is the same as in the original PT-01 and not the best quality when it comes to sound. The overall sound quality is a bit "plastic-y" because of the lightweight build of the tonearm and the cheapish needle. The chassis itself feels really rugged and nice.

It uses D-batteries or a power supply, which is practical.

Great little practice tool
DiskoStoo 13.02.2018
Its a great little practice tool, fun to play on. Its only downside is, while it is supposed to be flexible to play with both hands, it is only really comfortable to play with the right hand on the fader. But this has meant a big improvement on my scratching and platter control with my left hand!
