Best Multi-Effect Pedal for under 200 euros!
Mr.Gandalf 24.03.2021
The NUX MG300 Multi-Effect Pedal is one of the most praised pieces of gear in the guitar world since last year in 2020. One of the best features of the pedal is the good amp simulation and the low price. Despite costing only 125 it delivers the goods like no other pedal.

Personally I think the NUX MG300 beats a lot of other multi fx pedals in this price range and above. If you are under the 200 euros/dollar budget this is the device you should consider.

Of course this pedals has limitations but it features more pro aspects than negatives.

I will start with the negative aspects as they are just a couple:

- the pedals is made out of plastic, I personally have nothing against this but some people prefer metal housing.

- there is no USB cable included. Personally I feel that NUX were being cheap on this and they should consider at least when they do re-issues of the MG300 to add a simple USB cable…

-a larger screen would have been better appreciated.

The PRO’s:

- this little unit is capable of putting older Zoom and Boss products to the GRAVE;

- versatile DSP and TSAC sound;

- can load 3rd party IR’s;

- can be tweaked almost how the user want ( the pedals and amps cannot be inter-changed);

- software runs nice on any computer;

- sounds nice in a track mix;

-plenty of amp models and cabinets to choose from when creating the patch you desire.

That being said I am satisfied with this little unit and will looking forward for updates that maybe allow changing position of the patches and maybe and EVH 5150 amp:). I don’t think I will be needing another multi fx pedal at least for a coupe of months as I still have to discover the many tones of the NUX MG300. You can go from Slayer to Nirvana to BB King, as long as you know how to tweak the tones. I am not a fan of the factory presents but you can change them as you please. Good job NUX, let’s see some more updates for the MG300!

Easy to use Digital Multi effects unit
Norwichbadger 18.01.2021
As a basic digital multi-effects unit it is very good. You can set parameters on the unit screen that you supposedly can on the PC edit software. I normally have problems remembering how to set this sort of thing after a while but the MG-300 is very easy to get back into.
My main issue with it is that it is sold with the implication that it is an amp modeller like a Helix only cheaper. It has "impulse Responses" e.g cab sims and so on. I have owned at least one of the amps supposedly modelled namely a Fender Bassman and it sounds nothing one. The only thing the supplied IR's add is more latency! You can do more with the e.q. to model speakers/cabs. The latency on the unit is not to bad but is more noticeable on clean sounds without compression. If you plug the unit into an amp this is much less evident so other than home or studio use this might not be an issue in practice.
As DME unit it is a five star, as an amp sim only four.

A
Good unit for the price
Anatoly 21.06.2021
If you're looking for a sound that is comparable to VST plugins, look eslewhere, because this does not raise to the same level.

There are several things that i'm missing from this unit: better distortions, more stereo FX (most of them are mono), the ability to assign pedal to more than just volume, wah or whammy... But really, i'm complaining too much, because for the price, you can't complain much. This is hands down the best you're going to get on the cheap.

So, as long as you understand that you get what you pay for, i can heartily recommend this one.
