With regards to machine heads, we differentiate between Tyrolean style machine heads and single/individual machine heads. From a sound perspective, it doesn't matter which ones you use.
However, there are advantages and disadvantages here too.
Individual machine heads have the advantage that in the event of a defective tuning peg, this could be easily replaced independently of the others.
Here, 2 tuning pegs are located on a metal plate, which is attached to the scroll of the head with screws. They have the disadvantage that if one tuning peg is defective, the entire plate must be replaced. Nevertheless, they are very popular because the plates offer space for elaborate decorations.
