the sssnake Optical Cable 3m

I bought four of these optical cables to extend the distance from my ad/da converters to my rack mounted computer. Quality seems as good as cables costing 3 times the price in my local audio visual store. Only negative is some small differences in the plug tolerances. 3 cables 'clicked' into their sockets while one didn't. This doesn't affect operation and overall extremely happy for the price paid.

...what more of an endorsement does a product require?

Would like one with a slightly more armoured sheath, if truth-be-told but, for the price, I'm not complaining.

My experience with this cable wasn't the greatest. I used it to connect a D/A converter to my audio interface which is a bit further away and I was getting a lot of noise and clicks and sometimes the converter would fail to sync. I replaced this cable with a better quality one and audio was crystal clear.
Also the connectors are a bit flimsy.

I use optical cables a lot and I was surprised at the rugged construction of these, considering the price. The plugs are of a decent size so they're easy to handle, have protective caps attached, and the fibre is protected by a thick rubber sheath, so they look a bit like a mic cable with phonos.

Good sturdy cables, not given it 5* as one plug was slightly misshapen and was a pain to get into its hole but did, (eventually) work.
