Noise machine, in the good sense...
Jimifeed2 23.01.2018
I never had a fuzz (except for digital simulations in multifx). I was attracted by the reviews online, and the possibility to mix the octave (and also by the killer artwork!), and I wanted to add a different character to my pedal board (I have a Keeley Tone Workstation with two overdrives).
Pros: tone is great, with tons of available gain. The tone control allows to shift from Big Muff to more modern territory. The octave is handy, although it works better on high notes with the neck pick-up: sounds a' la Jack White...while without octave you can easily get into Sabbath land!
Cons: quite noisy, and the volume/level control is not really effective. Gain is high even at minimum fuzz level, so dont expect to use it for delicate distortions. I have not tried it with 12V, the reviews mention it would increase volume and headroom.
Note of caution: be careful where you put it in the signal chain. A compressor afterwards would kill it, while a low gain overdrive changes its tone pleasantly.

A fuzz for "fuzzers"
Mr. Jeckyll 11.02.2021
Quite particular sound. Like a chewing gum. Elastic and with a lot of flavour. Nothing to do with a fuzzface or a tonebender... neither a superfuzz. But all at the same time. Pretty personal sound with an agressive boost on the midrange. Between a moded (midrange boost) muff and that sound that we all have in our heads. Ade Emsley really did a good job with the pedal. That's on the fuzz side. When you kick the octave up shines like a freaking ball of fire.
Not the best pedal for chords and it takes time to fine tune. But it's worth the buying. The graphics are a plus, It looks awesome.

Wow, What a Wild Pedal!
Diatonico 30.08.2022
This is not a delicate pedal, it's full-on fuzz madness. Works really well if fuzz faces and big muffs are becoming boring to you. It's a thick, hairy tone that charges the air with electricity even before you turn on the octave. It's not a gated or 'sputtering' fuzz but, like another commenter said, like 'chewing gum'.

Pros:
- Sturdy build
- Blend for the fuzz

Cons:
- It's impossible to tell if the octave is on or off by looking at it, so you could accidently have it on (or off) when you need it the other way around!
- a little bigger than your average pedal

The crackle sound that you may need
mikkeleles 15.03.2024
I saw some videos of this pedal and instantly fell in love with sound and the design. I finally bought it after 3 years and it has a great sound but did not fill my expectations in full.
It has some crackles in the sound that love and it makes the sound really unique but it does not have a low end. only a little bit bit if you back down the tremble knob. if you engage the OCT button you get a nice Octave Fuzz but you have to redial the Tremble knob ,coz this sound is so sharp that is costing you high frequencies in hearing.
Compared to a Big Muff Green Russian, the BMGR has a bigger low end and is smoother. But the BMGR was very vanilla for me haha.
So i now doing the unthinkable and i run the Fur Coat into the BMGR and I get the clarity of the BMGR and the Crackles of the FC. And I think its a very Interesting tone.
If it was alone I don't think it could do the job for heavy riffs (power duo -guitar drums only)
But in a full a band I think it would sound pretty good.
