This is a very good rosin especially for beginners. It helps produce a clearer, more defined tone. It is important not to apply too much rosin, two or three times is more than enough and don't forget to clean your strings after each time you play.

When I tried to scratch the surface with a key to get a layer of powder it fell apart. I wasn't putting a lot of pressure on it either. Still works but there is definitely better out there. I do like the cleaning cloth cover. Don't get sticky rosin everywhere.
