Perfect for the bassist who wants a gut-like string but needs to use a magnetic pickup
Magnatron 26.11.2015
Having switched from a piezo to a magnetic pickup for stage volume/feedback reasons, I needed to switch from synthetic strings to steel core. I don't particularly like the sound or fell of all steel G and A strings, so these steel core, nylon wrapped strings are a really good compromise.
They have the same feel & guage as synthetic strings, with almost the same sound, but they work really well with magnetic pickups.
Sound-wise, they're not as mellow as synthetic or gut strings, but it's as close as you'll get and still be able to use a magnetic pickup.

Used in swing music style
Anonymous 04.11.2016
I use this strings mostly to play Swing, Big Band style.

They are super comfortable to play with, making it possible to endure long gigs without any discomfort.

The projection I get from these is considerable if we take into account the lower tension. Still for gigs of more than 50 people, amplification would be recommended.

I was expecting a sound a little closer to gut strings, but overall I'm happy with it.

Buenas cuerdas
ratrocker 10.03.2021

Great slap strings
Nile the Rev Robbins 23.03.2021
Bought these for my second bass I use for jazz and blues, but I was amazed how good they are for slapping too.
Great all round strings, I would say though, if you are a beginner go for the ultra light gauge.
