I am a professional drummer and have used many different Hot rods, DO NOT cut corners and buy the cheap versions of these from Ebay or Amazon from non reputable brands.
Unlike the cheap knock-off ones, these will last you much longer and the red sleeves at the top and the black covers on the bottom will not fall off.
The weight is also very balanced and as they wear away over time, they are still quite durable.
If you need to play drums at a quieter volume level and don't want to sacrifice quality of sound or quality of stick, then these are for you.

I bought these for when I'm playing in a quieter setting and i can't find any downsides...
The grip on these is great, the weight is pretty good, not too light but not too heavy. The length is also fine.
I can't speak for the longevity of these however they are amazing so far.

Add an extra dimension to your playing.

Rods open up new doors to a different type of style and sound. The H-Rods are the standard and give such a wonderful expression. The cymbals sound more delicate, the snare rings out a little more, the kick drum takes precedence.

Great

Well made and sound great. Im sure we've all purchased the cheaper option in our time but they ALWAYS end up falling apart. These are solid, you can play PROPERLY with them and the rods stay in place. I played a wedding showcase with cheaper ones and the rods started falling out!! I had to hold the rods in place while playing. Horrible. Pay a little extra and get these. They will last longer.

Perfect for quiet gigs or practise
SJ92 20.04.2018
I use these for quiet practice in the house and for smaller acoustic gigs and they're perfect. I've used cheaper ones and I find that I don't get the same sound out of my drums. With these, my drums sound great and they're easy to play. The only downside is that if you're a heavy hitter, you might go through these quite quickly but they're still great value for money.

Old industry reliable

Versatile rods that allow for less impact volume but can be used in most situations. A great tool for quieter gigs but still carry punch when needed . A must for every stick bag.

Hotrods
Peter2923 30.03.2016
My only issue with hotrods is the price, you have to accept that with any intensity of playing they have a relatively limited life. Personally I don't use them once they lose approx 40% of the rods, I just wish they were a bit cheaper as they don't last anywhere near as long as a stick!

Perfect for smaller venues and quiet gigs
Omarena80 04.11.2019
The originals, PERIOD. These Hot Rods are perfect for small venues and acoustic performances. Mind you, if you play hard, the rods will eventually break, but, they are pretty durable and last longer than regular sticks if taken care of. Every drummer’s and percussionist stick bag should contain these rods!
