In my search for a Tenor Sax case that will be light-weight, space-saving, easy to carry, AND accepted as cabin baggage, I tried (and almost ordered) the well known French case which boasts small outer dimensions, but at the last minute I was delighted to discover the Protec BM305CT because it's just so much better in my opinion AND much less expensive! The slight outer dimensions actually had me thinking "hard to believe that I-ve got my Tenor sax in that little case". There is a generous storage area for the neck, and the mouthpiece holder is fine for my Dave Guardala (although perhaps a little small for traditional hard rubber mouthpieces). The zippers for closing the case are excellent and ensure that the case will never open accidentally. The outside finish really seems to be durable and easy to clean. Some say that you can't get much inside such cases, but I get everything I need inside using the standard storage areas with the addition of a bell-pouch. Space is not an issue for me as I always have a separate shoulder bag for my radio mic, sax stand, iPad, and cables etc. This is the best ever Tenor case for me.
