Very good quality softcase
josebass 09.11.2017
I mainly bought it to ship my bass from Spain to the Netherlands with a courier company, and I wanted it to have a safe journey, which happened to be satisfactory. After that I've been also using it regularly to transport it in public transport, although is a bit heavy for this, it keeps the bass much safer than a regular gigbag and it's much lighter and comfortable than using a hardcase, so I would say it offers quite a good balance between keeping your bass safe and not breaking your back while transporting it.

Pros
- good quality made, it comes with double zippers in every pocket.
- 3 pockets, 2 big ones in the front!
- Strong seams.
- Strong straps

Cons
- I cannot think of any.

On the overall it's perfect if you want to carry all your cables, music sheets, and even one or two effect pedals, it also has two or three small pockets inside the front pocket one (in case you want to put your documents, cellphone charger, pencils, highlighters, etc...

Also, I live in a very rainy city (Amsterdam) and so far it has protected it perfectly from rain, humidity, etc...

Hell of a good softcase, very happy with it!

Great and versatile case
Jimmybass 22.06.2020
I bought this case originally to use for my 5 string MusicMan Bongo, as the supplied hard case was too unruly for everyday use. It's a great fit for the bass, although some may feel it's too snug, but my preference is not to have too much space for it to move around in.
I've also used it for a standard P bass, Warwick Sklar and some strat type electrics and it's again been really good, although obviously not the first choice for strat types.
The construction is very solid, with heavy duty fabrics and zips used throughout. Internally, there's plenty of support for the neck and a substantial piece of velcro holds it in place.
The accessory pockets are huge, I can carry a TC Electronic BQ500 head in the main pocket and still have room for cables, a tuner and other essentials.
The shoulder straps are wide and adjustable, with an additional chest strap helping with keeping the load in place and the perceived weight is low, making carrying your bass for any amount of time effortless. There are sturdy carrying handles, which makes lifting and transferring onto your shoulders very easy.
All in all, an excellent and versatile case for a variety of bass guitars and definitely one that should be considered when looking for an upgrade from a cheap gig bag.

Top quality for reasonable amount

Before I bought Protec Contego bass case, I really did my homework: I researched multiple online forums, video reviews and whatnot, I consulted friends that have soft cases for their guitars and basses and I narrowed my choice to Protec Contego, Mono Vertigo and Continental Reunion Blues.

It was easy to choose Protec: it was way cheaper than Mono and Continental, so +1 in that. Further more, Continental seemed too bulky for my needs (and I confirmed that after I consulted a friend of mine), although it seemed to offer best protection (but I need a case that can be safely thrown in a van, not from the top of the building). Mono's main shortcoming is a storage space. If I wanted to overcome that, I would have to buy Mono 'Tick', which adds another 85¤ to already whopping 209¤. So I guess it wasn't hard to see why 115¤ Protec Conteg was the best choice for me.

So onto my review of actual case I received: I LOVE IT!! It offers very good protection, I can wear it as backpack, or velcro the straps and take it in my hand. It's water proof, it has three pockets: one smaller that I use for tuner and earplugs); one big that I use for 3 cables; and one medium-size where I store notebook, spare strings and that big medium pocket even has 3 inner pockets with zippers and slots for pen. Brilliant!!!

All that said, I'm very satisfied and I will buy another one for my other bass!

Well designed

Great bass case with plenty of room to boot. Really well protected and could be a good solution for flying basses (particularly the cheap cases that don't cost much more than a hard case). Theres enough room for a laptop or ipad and still have room for cables and effects. I use this with a jazz bass and a baritone guitar, they both fits inside this case perfectly. The straps are padded and has mesh which lets your shoulders breath. Comes with a protec 5 year warranty so you know it is a solid bag.

It is fairly comfortable but as with any case, it really depends how much weight you're carrying. No bag is going to make a heavy bass any lighter or more enjoyable. This one is no exception. The case itself is not heavy but it isn't lightweight either but certainly a good trade off for the amount of protection you get on this bass. Recommended
