Putting the Bugs on Stage

It's hard to say that these boxes sound like this or like that, because as with any good DI, both units do their job well and don't sound like anything at all. With my Fender Marcus Miller Signature Jazz Bass, which features both active and passive pickups, both units handled the signal well. I really like the sound of that instrument's active circuit, so here the SB-2 was the better choice.

At my usual live sound gig, the SB-2 was a huge step up in sound and build from the usual cheap fare. It was also nice to have the active SB-1 for bass, since one of our usual bass players uses a Danelectro model which is is known for its unique vintage sound, but has notoriously low output. Smiles all around, which is what an engineer wants to see.

IS
Awesome little DI
Ian S. 22.10.2014
Bought one of these to connect my keyboards to old, buzzing mixers at gig venues. Passive operation and transformer isolation was a must for this purpose and the SB-2 provided this feature at a low cost. Metal chassis makes this practically indestructable. Merge function is also handy when you have only one channel to spare and need to plug in a stereo music source. Basically, this baby packs the best features of a JDI for a fraction of the cost.

Radial Products are simply outstanding.
Vashish - Mauritius 24.11.2021
Small and yet so powerful, eliminates noise and helps me a lot when I need to save channels on my mixing desk. The Sum function does the job so nicely. Bought 3 of these already and will definitely try the other products from Radial soon.

F
Stagebug SB-2
Frank4159 11.05.2014
I recently bought the Radial Engineering Stagebug SB-2. Like all Radial products, it is built to last. I think I could run my car over this thing without damaging it!

I already own the Pro D2, and needed something to change a stereo keyboard feed to mono. The Stagebug works perfectly, and is so small that you can put it in your pocket and almost forget it is there.

A fantastic product from Radial, at a very low price. Highly recommended.

Love it!

Always lives in my gig bag, except for all of the gigs where it comes out of the bag to do it’s job.

Super solid construction, great sound, awesome size! Definitely worth the price.

What's not to like?!
Steve1613 02.07.2015
It's small (fits in the palm of your hand!) built like a tank, packed with features - and no compromise on sound, this is the perfect passive DI for guitar, bass and keyboards - my main usage. The merge feature makes this even more so for keyboards. Just plug into the input+thru and the stereo out from your keyboard merges into 1, very clever! You can be totally confident that the sound coming out of your SB-2 is clean and full - and the price for all this quality is very reasonable. I can't recommend this DI enough.
