Classic tom head, works well as batter (top) or resonant (bottom) head. Personally I use it as resonant, with a clear emperor on top (as also used by abe laboriel jr) sounds huge and is long lasting. Little pinch of tap if the overtones are too much, or chuck a couple of pieces of cotton wool inside the drum (just a couple now) to kill over off the note sustain. Never had a bad Remo head.
