Fresh Tight Sound
Nyli 15.02.2014
I have been using Remo for years as i think for the price you get good bang for the buck. As described in the title this is industry standard drum hardware. I play many styles including Rock, Ska, Hip Hop and Reggae, and i've found the Remo fits in perfectly with any, and all of them.
I find the Remo open, warm, and bright, with excellent durability. In the past i have used Aquarian, Evans, and more, but personally i like the sound/feel of the Remo more. These heads accentuate your drum response, and also give a classic look to your hardware. What more do you want?......

AS
depends on what you play
Alessandro Spenga 04.11.2024
I love ambasadors, it's a classic sound and i've used them forever. but i think evans are easier to tune and definitely more durable. f you play rock, definitely get a double ply, like Emperor or evans G2 or UV2

B
Lively and open sounding
BrendanK 12.01.2015
I switched from pinstripes to ambassadors on my toms as I was looking for a more lively and open sound. These are a great head and for a single ply they are quite tough. I found the coating does tend to come off in the centre, but they remained quite playable.

Pair them with a clear ambassador on the bottom and you have a great lively sound.

No Surprises

Not much to put here. Out of the big 3 drum head companies, Remo is probably slightly the superior. I enjoy the slightly warmer sound from the coated head.

Yeah, get them.

I'm using it as a reso head for my floor tom, with vintage emperors as batters. Great results.
