Tried this as a change to the Remo Controlled Sound clear dot that I usually use, in a search for less overtones and a drier tone with my rather ringy DW Design BNOB snare.
The Powerstroke 3 certainly delivers a drier sound, very controlled, but still with a good crack. I favour low to medium tunings, and the sound and feel is good. However, if you like a ringy tone, this may not be the best head for you.
So far, I would say that it is somewhat more hardwearing than the Remo CS, and will take a lot of abuse.
Overall I like it, but for some musical styles I would prefer a more open tone.
