These may seem like a great idea but being made of metal with sharp edges they can actually scratch the finish if you're not careful. We're only talking about minor scratches and certainly better than driving a file into the fretboard but on some fretboard materials it may still be an issue.
The rubber bands won't last long unless you're VERY careful but it's just as effective (and actually faster) to just press it down using your hand instead.
Using this product is certainly faster than using masking tape but I'm not convinved that it's better. It's very convenient for doing some quick fretwork on my own cheaper instruments but I probably wouldn't use it for professional work.

Does the job, but not the best quality
Rogerius S 03.05.2022
It does what it promises and it's cheap and reasonably effective. It fit my stratocaster factory frets perfectly and I use them without the rubber bands. But please be careful - the edges (both outside and inside) can be sharp and not deburred so I could see a situation where one could scratch their fretboard slightly.
Other than that - it did what it was supposed to do, it's cheap, but there are better tools out there.

Useful for quick fixes
Sævar 02.11.2020
I use this for some quick fret fixes. But if I need to do more extensive work I still use the good old masking tape. This is a bit fidgety for bigger jobs like re-crowning the whole neck.
Still very useful to have around.

if you have a treated freatboard you need to be extra careful with that stuff
