They are low profile but you won't save space because the bending makes the connector to occupy too much space and it cover the other MIDI port on a big strymon pedal. If you switch it it can put some tension on the dc cable on the other side of the pedal.
Buy it if you prefer to save space in one direction but you don't mind to occupy another port.
Otherwise it's better to have a straight cable, at least you can connect all the cables you need to the pedal... In this case Thomann's got a lot of alternatives

L-turn direction is not logical!

L-turn direction is to the side. not to the top or down from MIDI-socket.
this blocks other sockets on your synth. just avoid the cable if your synth is socket-busy
