I already have the Rockboard patch cables without the gold connector and these feel weightier and more expensive. Soundwise, there is no cause for concern. No noise, everything sounds like it should (no coloring).
They are very short and not overly flexible, due to the thickness of the cable (thicker than the standard version), so best suited for jacks that are positioned parallel to each other.

pedal boards... very short distances

I bought this for my pedal board which has tight space between pedals. This cable is good for special short connection.. otherwise i recommend to go for the same cable in 10 cm.

Gets the job done obviously.
However, I had problems with that patch after less than one month. Don't cramp it.
