Rode NTG8

the Rode ntg8 has a magnificent construction. it is durable and sturdy. It comes with a tropicalized metal case.
The sound quality is typical Rode, it's fine for normal, female voices but you may encounter some problems in case of particularly deep male voices, very very deep eh!
Obviously being a long shotgun, you can not expect to use it indoors, but in exceptional cases, with environments without reverb yes. It happened to me in some occasions and the result was good.
Would I buy it again? I don't know: it's for those rare occasions when you're really far away or to focus on certain voices compared to the rest.
I'd say it's specialized, if I had to choose a more generic product I'd turn to Rode's brother ntg3 or the new ntg5 (but I don't know it personally) or other brands.

Zuerst: ich finde de Verarbeitung toll und den Zubehör super!
Die Halterung lässt sich ganz gut einstellen, wobei das Mikro da rein- und rauszubekommen etwas unhandlich/umständlich ist.
Das Metallrohr zur Aufbewahrung ist wirklich sehr schick, schützt vor Wasser und ist einfach super stabil.
Zum Sound: die Richtwirkung fand ich sehr gut (wobei das etwas kürzere Neumann KMR 82 mindestens ebenso gut ist). Die Klangfarbe bei Stimme fand ich auch gut.
Was mich gestört hat ist zunächst ein helles Grundrauschen, dabei gibt es sogar ab 11kHz mit Peak um 18kHz ein prägnantes Rauschband.
Un dann war da ein höher Whistleton (ein wackeliger Sinuston) um die 10kHz, der sich bei leichter Bewegung auf bis zu 2kHz bewegt hat!
Außerdem richtige Audioaussetzer bei schnellerer Bewegung, unabhängig vom Windschutz.
Vielleicht hatte ich ein Montagsstück?
Ich hatte dann ein gebrauchtes Neumann KMR 82 gefunden, das viel sauberer klingt und das ich gerne behalte!
