The Australian guys at Rode did it again. This one microphone seems built so that it sounds good everywhere. The voice is captured with pretty much a lot of low ends, good medium, and sparkling highs. This is for radio shows, podcasting, narrating, streaming. So if you are a professional streamer, or need to narrate your own book (and turn it into an audiobook) this microphone is for you. Especially if you record in your own home, and perharps there is residual noise, it manages to reject most of it.
I strongly recommend soundproofing your room to get the most out of this dynamic microphone. It rejects lots of noise because of his supercardioid type, so it gets the voice mainly near his capsule, but if you crank the preamp or your soundcard mic channel gain too much, it starts to capture little noises around. So soundproofing your room will ensure you turn the gain as much as you want on it.
Superb quality, seems really heavy and sturdy, all metal, good Australian quality. And voice sounds fat and compressed, even with a simple XLR input in my Scarlett 6i6 soundcard. Enjoy!
