Roland KT-10 Kick Trigger
David9321 19.07.2015
Purchased as a replacement for a KD-7 and in order to free a drum pedal, user had only seem the pedal being used in concerts on British Television.
The build quality is as you would expect of Roland, with good weight and modern smooth foot board.
The principle of the actual beater movement is very similar to that of the KD-7, in that the reversed beater is now replaced by a flat board , striking the flat sensor at the end of the pedal assembly.
The adjustment for tension is sensitive enough to allow for replication of a drum pedal to the same extent as using the KD-7 assembly and if anything feels more positive. The user cannot say it would replace , in all aspects the DW Pedal currently used but in a Pop/Ballad setting, it certainly performs well.
Used at present to trigger an Expanded Roland TD-10 and showed no false triggering and good response.
User purchased a second KT-10 to replicate a double pedal set up ( replacing a FatCat single pedal) and again works well. One note, is that the Mix In socket is only on one side of the pedal, so if using a Roland 2 to 1 cable, or other suppliers, the second pedal cannot be placed as close to the Hi-Hat pedal because of plug length as a traditional pedal, a small point but one which could have easily been avoided and caused user some concern on set up positions.
Wear on the beater pad is so far fine (none visible) and hopefully these will be replacement items in time.
Pedal is certainly a talking point from other musicans and from this users experience , well worth the purchase for both functionality and responsiveness.

Great pedal
Alwin Z. 19.09.2021
I bought the pedal to use it with my nord drum 3p in an apartment.

The pedal is pretty silent, but only if you put something underneath to decouple it from the floor. The rubber feet on the pedal don't help with that, so I put it on a rubber mat with felt furniture feet under the actual feet of the pedal. It does the trick and at the moment it is more silent than the sticks hitting the pads of the nord drum.

The response is also really good, it feels in my opinion like a good regular drum pedal, although I'm not really an experienced drummer. The adjustments on it are also a really nice feature.

I recommend the pedal for anyone who struggles with drumming in an apartment, but keep in mind you can't place it directly on the floor if you want it to be silent because you have to decouple it somehow (a dense rug for example should be fine).

Almost great!

I'm using this pedal with Alesis Strike Multipad to trigger the bassdrum sounds and it works well for me. The build qualitty is very good, it's a solid peace of gear. The pedal is not very quiet, It produces medium level of noise while playing, it's more like clicking sound, not beating. The resistance is a bit too high for me at the end, but it helps to play fast doubles or another strokes, what is very good thing about this pedal. Overall I'm saticified and it's good for my needs.
Pros: Solid build qualitty, responsive for fast playing, it can be used in double pedal setup.
Cons: It's pretty big, spring adjustment has only 2 positions.

If you own at least one trigger module, this pedal is a must. It's extra compact but very well built and sturdy, very accurate triggering. And for what you get, it's actually cheap.
I'm very picky about bass drum pedals, normally I play only Sonor Perfect Balance pedal and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to execute all the hybrid techniques I use quite a lot but actually it haven't been an issue. Sure, the playing feel is a bit unnatural because of the way it's constructed, but it's also rather sensitive and after a few days of adjusting it feels alright! It does slide away if you don't use the spikes. Maybe adding velcro to the underside is a good idea also but those two spikes are enough for me.
