An atypical electric cello, but it might just be worth the money. ;-)

So, you've come across this electric cello before, but there wasn't a positive (or negative) review in sight. Should you buy it? Well, that depends on what you're looking for. This is a very sturdy, electric cello. It works remarkably well with distortion and overdrive pedals, but it is also able to produce a sound similar to that of an acoustic cello, albeit amplified by using a piezo pickup. Do note that it sounds a bit more metallic, but that may also be because of the quality of the set of strings it came with, combined with the metallic bridge.

Looking at it while wearing it, it looks like quite a contraption. Is it comfortable to wear? Well, you may not be able to play it comfortably right out of the box, because it requires some adjusting in order to accommodate your body type. Sbip has included two hex keys for that purpose.

The tuning mechanism takes some getting used to, but it responds well to minor adjustments. Do note that the cello doesn't have any fine tuners. I did not miss them, though. Furthermore, I must say that I was quite surprised by the fact it stayed in tune for prolonged periods of time.

Be sure to give it some time. Especially in case you've never played an electric cello before. I've been going to a few jam sessions in order to test it out for prolonged periods of time. I recommend you do so as well, so that you can determine whether or not this is the electric cello for you. Simply walking around with it at home will help you get used to it, as well. Just remember to keep adjusting it until you can comfortably walk around with it. Have fun!
