I bought this great little Cajon for my two year old son, because he saw and "played" a Cajon from a friend of mine and liked it very much.
First of all, the Thomann Service is great and the Cajon arrived within two days well protected in a big box.
The Schlagwerk Cajon is build like the big Cajons from Schlagwerk with a great quality. The edges are well rounded and it is made of beautiful wood with a very nice lining. That is what I expected because of the price. On the other hand, I had some concerns about the sound quality and especially the Bass because of the small size. But this Mini Cajons sounds much bigger and fuller than it looks like. It has a clear and crisp attack and a nice buttom end sound when you hit it in the middel. Hitting on the outer part offers an even more crisp sound and it gets much more quit.
The snare sound is great too and the Cajon is very responsive. So this Cajon can be used for kids or for practicing and playing at home, when you want to play a bit softer.
The Cajon is rock solid and even in the hands of kids you dont have to be too concerned it can be damaged.

I bought this for my seven year old and she absolutely loves it. The snare note has a lovely dry tone and in some ways I actually prefer the high notes that it produces to those from my full size Cajon. The bass note is not as full and deep as that from a full size Cajon - but this is exactly what you would expect, given its smaller dimensions. The Star Box Junior makes a great introduction to percussion for kids and if they don't end up playing it much, then they can always use it as a stool! - It is actually my daughter's favourite video game playing seat.
