Great allrounder mothpiece
Kristina. 02.07.2019
Service: Shipping and service from Thomann were excellent as usual and the order arrived within the expected delivery time frame.

Use: I ordered the mouthpiece to improve sound on a soprano I got for trad sessions and festivals (Thomann MK III Handmade Soprano Sax) and it delivered. As always, this is a great mouthpiece from Selmer and they hold up the quality.

Sound and response: Sound improved immensely throughout all registers and it is easier to keep the instrument in tune. Similarly, response in the upper and lower register is fantastic now where I found it quite difficult with the included mouthpiece (to be expected for the price). I tested it on some classical pieces and film scores in addition to the trad I bought this for and it has a very clean and rich sound for all of this.

Equipment/material: The mouthpiece comes without ligature and cap. I use the ligature and cap from the original mouthpiece which does fit this one and keeps the vintage style of the instrument. Depending on the instrument you have, it may be necessary to get a new ligature if size is different. It does come with a Selmer bite protection and bag.

R
Good stable tone
Ralphos 07.02.2014
This little marvel is not only easy to play in general, but most importantly very easy to play in tune compared to other mouthpieces. It produces pure and incredibly stable tone with precisely controllable dynamics. I can finish a middle octave note smoothly by reducing the volume down to absolute zero with no effort at all! Good mouthpiece for classical music.
It comes with no ligature. It is pretty narrow in diameter and both my single screw Selmer and my double screw Yamaha ligatures are slightly too large for it, I have to tighten them fully just to start holding the reed delicately.
