Excellent pro Vocal Mic
paulo1964 20.12.2019
Having worked in M.I. retail for years, I buy on quality and features rather than brand names. When I discovered JTS mics over ten years ago I was able to a/b the SM58 and the beta 58 with the JTS version which was better than the sm58 on sound and almost as good as the beta for much less money.Only after 10 years that mic died and I needed another. Havong done the research I was looking at this, its slightly dearer big brother or a Midnight Blues from AKG. Taking all specs, prices and reviews into consideration I chose this 835.
Wow! Even though I am used to a decent mic, this astounded me with its clarity, crispness and feedback repulsion. Its heavy, which is a good sign and looks sleek and smooth.
The cover was a bit cheap looking so I transferred it to a padded cover I aready have. It came with its own mic clip which was good.
I'm not sure how the 845 could be better tbh but I'm more than happy with this.
For reference I am using it for backing vocals and occasional lead vocal; going through a Mackie PA; I have a low-ish male voice but sing some hgh harmonies and we play mainly 60s-80s rock and roll and ballads, so it may or may not suit other genres as well.

E835
Herms 23.05.2020
I bought this to try out as a possible alternative to my Shure Beta-58 A's. I'm really happy with the sound of my 58s, I know them well, but they are a very warm sounding mic that needs some EQ work to be done to make them sound crystal clear. The E835 is exactly what I hoped for out of the box. There is a baked in EQ of some low cut and some treble & presence lift. Used for vocals, this mic just cut through the mix before I applied any EQ at its first gig. The singer's voice was really clear and words were nicely defined, definitely not getting lost/muddy in the FOH mix, and awesome in monitors and IEMs. Feedback at decent volume was rejected well too. I'll be buying a couple more of these soon.

What is not to like?

We use serveral E835's in the band.
They are robust and in my opinion just a tad nicer sounding than the SM58's you hear and see everywhere. I think especially male vocals benefit from the little extra clarity they give. And they might be a bit cheaper?
They come with a zipper bag with a little padding and a mic holder to screw on the mic pole. I would buy an E385 again without hesitation.

The 4 stars on sound is only because I think serious lead singers should opt for a E945 or somesuch (they shouldn't settle for an SM58 either).

Budget but still great
Stublito 01.04.2023
I replaced a set of E935 with these, they are half the price. I expected some difference in the audio quality, but only one singer so far has noticed the difference, and he thought they sounded "thicker." Tremendous value.
