Fantastic sound quality
Dogwood 11.03.2020
I'm super happy with this mic. I've tried so many mics for speaking narrative and voiceover work, and this one blows them all away no matter the price. I think a lot of the super high-end mics are too sensitive and they make my voice with the "s" sound terrible. But, this mic is clear and crisp without sounding too sensitive on sillibants. It's smooth and excellent. Finally!

Opnieuw een Sennheiser, opnieuw top!
Jan (Just another amateur from Belgium) 09.05.2023

Sennheiser E845 S
JohnN 21.07.2013
I bought the sennheiser E845 S seven years ago and have being using it at every gig since without any issues or problems. This mic adds more bottom end and volume to your vocal, it takes a bit of getting used to if you were using a SM58 like me before hand, you will need to reduce mid / vol on your desk for a sound and suits anyone who has a week voice. It comes with a pouch and bubble wrap which is important to store between gigs as mine is as new condition today, I have an E825 also and we ensure to the lock switch in locked open position to avoid starting songs with mic off as we experienced a couple of times.

Bought as a back up and works great
shredhedd 08.03.2016
I recently had one of my EV mics let me done so I needed a backup fast. After doing some online research I opted for this Sennheiser E845 and what can I say. It has Sennheiser quality written all over it, quality components, sturdy and robust and it sounds great. I wasn't actually aware I had bought the one with the switch but no biggie. In the box it comes with a mic holder and a bag to keep it clean and protected. I'm well impressed, great job.

Good mic and a worthy substitute for SM58. Got some heavy hits and still works perfectly.
Give it some boost on highs and it suddelny gets the air that it lacks a bit.

i use it at home for home recording. it builts like a tank. comfortable to hold and a very clear sound i can hear. no need to compare with sm58. because each of them has different taste. you should try both.

Great for naturally bright voices
mjheikki 24.02.2021
I find the mic sounds flatter and smoother than many similar hand-held dynamics. This can be an advantage for bright female and male voices, but with deeper male vocals the timbre can be darker than desired.

Better than the SM58
Anonymous 11.12.2014
My first microphone was a borrowed-long-term Sennheiser from the e800 series but I'm unsure of the model. It was as dynamic as you could want and had incredible output and the amount of gain before feedback left nothing to be desired. When my friend needed his mic back, I needed a new mic.

I had heard that the Shure SM-58 was the industry standard and thought, surely as good as the Sennheiser was, this Sm-58 must mop the floor with it.
During my first gig with the Sm-58, I learned better.
It had a tinny and dimensionless sound compared to the Sennheiser and the amount of output was so much lower than the Sennheiser that I broke my desk trying to push the faders to get that volume and fullness i was used to.

This sent me on a wild search to find the right mic for me. I bought the Sennheiser E845s thinking it was the one my friend used to own but I know now that it wasn't.
Be that as it may, the E845 is a great little mic and although it's output level is only just slightly more than the SM-58, it still manages to give me the dimension and dynamic range I need to feel my own voice during a performance.
It also handles feedback incredibly well.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably save up a bit more and buy something from Senheisers' e900 range or a Shure SM-58 BETA. But I'd still carry around one of these as a worthy backup mic.

Good balance.
Peter R. 438 22.07.2023
High voice, low voice, this mic brings them all out at a very well balanced volume & clarity.
My old shure is bassy with little in the higher register when compared.
My voice has a new life now from a mic that's a little cheaper and my 'eq's' are all straight up, no + no - perfect👍🎤
