Very hot and a bit scooped

I mostly use DiMarzio's and wanted to try some Duncans, so take my words with a grain of salt since I might be used to a certain type of sound, or may have picked a very genre-oriented pick-up.
This one is commonly used in the modern metal community, so I expected tight and midrange-rish pick-ups. They have some of that, but to me, the shrill highs and flubby bass (150Hz and about) were too present. They have a bit more gain than my other pick-ups so I would say they have more winding. Nothing that can't be fixed with proper EQing, but that simply isn't the tone I'm looking for right out of the instrument. Might be more suited for the more extreme genres.
Installation was quite easy, (pickup frame springs just stiff enough but not too stiff which makes installation a pain with other pickups). Seymour Duncan also has lots or wiring diagrams easily available.

Great for tuning low. Trembucker pole spacing was perfect for use on an Ibanez RGIB6.

It was my first Semour Dunkan pickup. Before buying it I tried only Ibanez INF4 and Dmarzio X2N. In my opinion SD Nazgul is clearer, sharper and brighter then INF4. The sound of my Ibanez was changed totaly. It takes time to get used, but I like SD Nazgul so much. It's perfect choise for metal music. Also in the same order I bought Dimarzio Super Distortion for my third guitar. For comparing I can say: Nazgul - shredding and furious, Super Distrtion - rich harmonics, X2N - tight and straight.

Good replacement for my Ibanez bridge humbucker

I am extremely happy with this pickup . The sound is really balanced and clear , a huge contrast to my old bridge pick up . This was my first pickup swap . The provided installation instructions were clear enough .

As good as it gets!

A pickup for the ages!
The Nazgul (6 String version) is a very nice and round-sounding Pickup. It's like a Seymour Duncan Distortion (SH-6) but on steroids. It has a really tight low end and cuts right through the mix with a nice mid range and precise highs. It's perfect for distorted crunch to high-gain sounds, from rock to anything metal really. Cleans out really nice with the volume rolled off, too. It's also great for low tunings and doesn't lose any tone or clarity in tunings like drop c or drop b.
This is also the Trembucker (as in Tremolo-Humbucker) version of the Pickup, so it's designed for wider Bridges, for example floyd rose trems, but also some fixes bridges, like that on the Ibanez SZ series. It fits perfectly under the Strings.

It Sounds great together with it's matching Pickup, the Sentient 6, and the outputs are pretty close to each other, so no adjusting necessary when switching between those two.

A perfect pickup for distorted sounds and easily worth every penny!

Goes very well with down tuning modern metal but it also has a nice clear, balanced, not overly saturated tone for shredding and soloing (compared to the SD Invader or the full shred which sit at both ends of the spectrum).
