Ok, so after watching several videos on YouTube and getting as much info as I could on the nazgul I felt confident that this was a safe choice for my style of playing...and I wasn't wrong. The nazgul is perfect for high gain picking that needs a lot of articulation. It has quite a bit of output for a passive so it's ideal for a moderate level of gain, but the bright side is if you're playing through something like a 5150 or engl, then you can turn down the gain on the amp and get the best out of the pickup. I don't personally use chords often when I'm in a high gain setting but I would say if you do go for the Pegasus instead. But if you play in a style akin to necrophagist or any other single note fast paced metal group then this is the pickup for you.
I love my clean channels so I paired is with the sentient and split the coils. Wow. Just wow. The combo is great. When you combine the nazgul and sentient you get some really sparkly cleans, but if you go for any of the thumping/slapping stuff then that's where this combo will really shine. The nazgul adds just a bit of grit to really cut through the mix and is really responsive.
So far there isn't anything I don't like about the pickups. They are perfect for metal, but won't hold you back if you want to play any other genre. Do yourself a favour and go for it!

I use Nazgul in my 6-string guitar, and has a very aggresive, tight high gain sound. in 7-strings? Even better!
