Q
Punchy, tight, and dynamic
Quissama 28.01.2019
I'm not a huge connoisseur of pickups, but I immediately loved the sound coming from the Pegasus. I went from a DiMarzio ToneZone in my Ibanez RG520, which sounded muddy and hardly suitable for anything in the metal genre, to this Seymour Duncan which is touted as being custom made for prog metal.
It kicks, it punches, it's crisp and clear in the highest gain and in the clean channel. And it brought my tone out of the 90s and into modern prog metal. I paired it with a Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck position to balance a modern and classic sound.

Tip: check out Keith Merrow's Seymour Duncan pickup comparison vid on YouTube. That's what inspired me to buy this.

Q
Attack and clarity
Quimmy 12.08.2015
One of the most articulate bridge pickups I?ve ever used. String-to-string clarity is astounding and easily rivals the Bare Knuckles I have that cost twice the price. A moderate output means you get controllable high-gain sounds that really respond to how you pick while still producing more than enough output for any style of metal you?d like. The Pegasus is perfect for more progressive styles of metal that tend to prefer pick attack and clarity across all six strings over pure aggression.

If you play music that?s more towards the extreme end of metal, the Pegasus is probably beaten by the Nazgul or Black Winter pickups, and a number of other brands higher-output offerings; but at this resistance, I don?t think I?ve ever played a better bridge pickup for articulate and clear high-gain playing.

Dynamic beast!
Ilias K 12.11.2019
I purchased the pickup as an upgrade to an HH Fender tele (it used to have pearly gates which wasn't my sound at all). Great pickup with lots of dynamics, note clarity, and not just for chugging. You can do a lot with your sound.

One con is the coil split sound, but I don't really use coil split on the bridge position, so that's ok.

Great tone and character

Great humbucker. Moderate output (compared to other metal-suited pickups), great tone and character: especially the lows are woth mentioning because they're tight, as it should be in a modern metal pickup, but still organic and they maintain natural dynamics.

Great pickup, not only for modern metal
Sinn 10.04.2017
I've tested it on my basswood Ibanez Rg and it's a great match, but I've found a perfect pairing it with my Dean Hardtail. Great tone, superb definition and articulation, no matter how much gain you dial in your setup, it keeps clear even on 11!! But it's not only a metalhead's dream, on mid gain and crunch sound works wonders, even on clean sounds. Work good on split/coil tap, don't spect strat style sound, good bite for blues licks.
I've it paired with a SD Jazz in the neck and match well in output.
