The SD JB4 (or the trembucker version) is obviously a classic.
You really cant go wrong with it.
It has a nice growly mid-bark.
A lot of well defined clarity too.
Its just.... I don't like passives.
Dont know why. There is something.
Not even in the tone but in the feeling or something.
Im REALLY born for EMG's.
But, objectively, this pickup is amazing.

I have an Ibanez RG. I got this for it and it has never sounded better! OMG if you have never tried a Seymour Duncan, you are missing out!

I've put this pickup in a few guitars with metal character.
It works especially well with alder body instruments.80's metal tone is in your hands.

Amazing pickup

I upgraded my Ibanez RGAIX6FM from DiMarzio Fusion Edge pups to Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz, and the difference couldn't be more astounding. The TB-4 has great dynamic response and tonal range as a humbucker or split, clean or dirty: I couldn't recommend it more for coil-split setups due to its versatility.
