I had a couple of these fitted to two ukuleles by a local luthier. He had to widen the slot in the saddle of one of them, and made a new bridge to fit, but even so the cost was only for one hour of his labour for each and £5 for the bridge. Fitted, they look very professional. The end pin/socket looks well-proportioned for the soprano ukulele body, and feels solid when plugging in etc,.
I've only tried each through an amp briefly, and have no problem with the sound. Obviously being a piezo under-saddle pickup it's never going to sound as good as a good microphone. I use mine with the instrument input of a Fender Passport Mini PA, which has various amp model profiles to choose from and adjustable tone, so it's easy enough to tame the inevitable "quack" sound from the piezo; otherwise a suitable pre-amp would probably be recommended between this pickup and the amplifier.
