I’m not sure if you delivered a genuine Shure SM7B to me because it has only three moving parts, two of which have significant play. The mounting system for the microphone stand is very strange. If you tighten it too much, the microphone can’t rotate; if you loosen it a bit, it starts to rotate but becomes loose. The area higher up, where the microphone mount transitions into a V-shape, also has an untightened hex screw, and there’s play there straight out of the box. The pop filter doesn’t stay in place. It seems like it should fit snugly and hold itself in place. Mine doesn’t attach at all, and when the wind blows from the window, the pop filter just flies off somewhere in the room. The sound seems good (I have no way to compare it with other Shure SM7Bs). In our city, there’s only one music store with a Shure SM7B on display. I touched it, and it didn’t have any of the issues I mentioned. Did I receive a defective or fake product?
