Stairville DJ Lase 150-R MK-III DMX IR

I bought this from Thomman at the start of the year. What first attracted me was the reasonable price and comprehensive list of features. When it arrived, however, the remote that is included was broken. This was in no way Thomman's fault, and I suspect it was due to poor handling from the postal company. Thomman very kindly sent a replacement remote free of charge.

I first used this at a birthday party, however, as the remote was missing, I could only use it on "auto" mode. This proved very effective, projecting a variety of patterns the full length of the room.

I learned that to be most effective way for me to use this was to have it set to auto for the first half of the evening, then as the music gets louder change to "sound" mode, which uses an internal microphone to match the laser beam to the beat.

Overall, this is a very effective bit of kit, looks great, and is still working brilliantly 6 months later.

I bought this for a disco at my local school and its working fine and making everyone happy since installation :) Really nice switchable laser patterns. Has beat recognition in “sound” mode, or just put it into Auto mode for a pre-programmed random show.

Found it easy to operate – switching between sound (microphone), DMX and remote modes. Remote control is not the best quality, but hey – it's really nice added feature at this price.

I strongly recommend using it in combination with smoke machine - then you'll be able to fully enjoy the view from this laser.

Of course this is a budget and entry level product, but to be honest at this list price it’s really hard to fault.

This light is awesome. It really throws the beams out there. Don't be fooled by the size. The light is small, but is a great effect to my light show!
I have had this unit for over 1 year and use it weekly. It still works perfectly. It is a very solid unit. It has a good amount of weight to it for being so small. Works great with smoke.
If you want to get creative with the remote and change the effect during a song you know the beat to, you can make a great effect.

Definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for good quality laser.

This is a great little portable laser effect for most events. With a heap of pre programmed patterns and effects, it is easy to use, either in auto, music or DMX mode.

The DMX mode has a lot of good, useful features, such as control of which pattern to run. You can even set it to run in auto or music mode via the DMX channels. Very handy in some situations!
It also has support for direct control of the XY axis, so you could technically make your own patterns with a bit of patience and time.

To summarize, great little red laser. Professional build, perfect for small/medium venues, or large venues when using multiple! Would recommend to anyone wanting to get cheap, good quality lasers!
Use these with care, as they are powerful lasers. They can result in permanent eye damage if used recklessly!
