I bought four of these units seven years ago to provide a wash from the rear of the stage at my venue. I can say with complete honesty they have been one of the best buys I have ever made for the venue lighting. Unbelievably good value and reliability, the cost alone is astoundingly low for what you are getting. Whilst other more expensive units have had failures of one kind or another these units have carried on with all of the LEDs working, they just keep doing what they are meant to. They come it a decent sturdy metal chassis too so easily take the odd knock when rigging and de-rigging.
If I have one criticism of the design it is that you can "loop through" the DMX control but you cannot "loop through" the power. If the design was changed by having and in and out for power that would be very helpful. At present that means that each it is powered and cabled individually. Even if this put an extra 15% to 20% on the purchase cost the value would still be there and the difference in their ease of use would be increased 10 times over.
Overall I highly recommend these units, they are a no nonsense robust design with longevity, value and effectiveness. You cannot really ask for more at this price point.

Stairville LED Cans
Sam742 05.10.2015
Yet another great buy from Thomann. These where bought for a bar install that had a limited budget but needed some kind of colour wash. These where perfect for the job. Extremely bright fixtures for the price. Only thing I would point out is the SPEED knob on the back. Don't turn it too far as it will just continue to turn and the speed will no longer be adjustable. Other than that, I have no issues with this light. DMX-able which is also a bonus. Comes with a gel holder which on an LED fixture i'm not overly sure about but makes it look more professional when inserted. So yes, if you have a limited budget and you want some bright LED cans with the ability to DMX or have running sound to light or have a fixed speed , I would recommend these

Best buy!!!
Ionut Daniel 01.05.2015
We mostly use them as wash lighting for our live band. I have to say that they are very effective. They have a really good range.
LED is the way to go. The days of lugging around those hot cans are gone. They run cool so they can be used for close up light.
These Led Pars are the perfect size and very bright. They are very durable.
They work great with the American Dj MyDmx 2.0 through DMX and also work great with stand-alone mode. The sound active mode is not so good, it is to sensitive for loud stages.
Great buy for this price!

Affordable option for smaller venues
Anonymous 03.11.2014
After playing several larger venues with dedicated lighting guys we always found it a bit of a come down when playing in smaller pub style venues where the only option is for the lights around the stage to be on or off.
We purchased three of these with the intention of using them as on stage 'mood lighting' for smaller stages/venues and they were perfect for this task.
There are a number of recessed dip switches on the rear of the lamp which can be used to configure certain parameters - we tended to just use one colour/intensity for all of our shows.
The lights can be set to be sound activated - we never used this feature but I can imagine this being useful for more upbeat material and discos etc
The only issue we came across with these lamps is the length of the mains lead. If they are being mounted on a stand with sockets on the stand then this is not an issue but if you are intending to use them on stage, as we were, ensure that you have the ability to run extensions next to the location of the lamps.

Love these lights!
Robert883 09.11.2014
I think these lights are great. OK they are flat LED's and they are bulky but they are sturdy and they are very bright lights. I have them on floor stands and they work perfectly like that. Not tried the DMX functions as I don't have a controller but I reckon that would make these lights almost perfect.

SUPERB VALUE AND VERY PRACTICAL LIGHTS
Paul494 20.12.2013
Our old par cans were very hot and heavy... so I thought that these might be a more practical set up. I've read the other reviews and generally agree.... ("very good overall") However, the build quality looks excellent to me and the flanges that take the gel holders (giving you lots more options of power/colour/diffusion than without gel holders) seem as strong and robust as any others. Certainly, a case/flight case of some sort would be good.... A couple of old suit cases (internal dimensions 65 cm x 55 cm x 23 cm) will take the lights in their cardboard boxes!! Get down to the charity shop! The light is perhaps not as bright as some, but the 8 we've bought will be perfect for our 9 piece swing outfit ('THE SURGEONS OF SWING') and will give great atmospheric lighting for the medium sized venues we pay. The value for money is terrific.... buying 8 we got a small discount which was even better. They come with continental type plugs... so you'll need either to change the plugs, or what we've done, buy a couple of continental 4 gang trailing sockets.... and just put UK plugs on them. These are highly recommended....well done Thomann!!!

Great units for RGB colour washing on stage and uplighting
Anonymous 26.08.2015
I have had the opportunity to use these LED Par Cans in small and medium sized venues. They are great for both stage washing as well as uplighting. The only downside to this unit is that there is no dimmer channel on DMX. Not having a dimmer channel means that programming and using dimmer chases can be difficult, having to manually recreate effects. Other than that these lights have a great light output which can be used in a variety of environments. The light come with a gel frame holder - which I don't use to held gels as they are RGB fixtures - it is good to put them on the units to stop damage to the otherwise open LEDs during transport.

Perfect for small band/duo/solo
Gerry720 28.09.2022
Bought my first set of these lamps over 10 years ago and they have worked flawlessly since. Recently purchased some flat LEDs which don't have the same "feel" as these lamps (more harsh in my opinion). Running with LC2412 controller via midi.

Good quality LED light
Lancelot13 09.04.2015
This light is really good value. Its not fantastically bright but quite bright enough mixed in with other lights for either band or disco lighting. Well constructed and seems as if it will last quite well. Has built in sensor to do basic patterns in time with music etc. Or can be controlled via DMX. Because its LED it uses very little current. Overall a useful and well-made item.

The best LED PAR of his time
Anonymous 07.07.2016
The oldest LED PAR 56 I have has 8 years and it was used minimum once/week. I'm sill using them because they are fully functional. I like the warm colors compared with the new led generation. Hard to break, solid build, long lasting units!
