i use this for my 9" or 10" tablet. however this is better suited for paper/sheet music

the stand itself is ok in sturdyness (3 stars) but the top holder is super flimsy and bends easily especially with my heavy tablet and its case(2 star)

pros: ive used it for about a year now and it is durable. the little metal clamps which is actually made for holding the paper sheets down really does a good job holding my tablet in place

Cons: as time as passed, one of the booms is kinda sticky and has to be pulled out or really pushed in with a little bit of effort.

this was a very low cost item, i guess you get what you pay for.

v
Very basic quality
vries1 03.06.2019
I ordered one for a fellow musician, who was looking specifically for a music stand "on a budget". The first stand we received had a manufacturing defect which prevented the stand from being folded out correctly. Thomann provided great customer service and immediately took care of the problem by sending a replacement. Thumbs up! The replacement stand is clearly better - didn't have the manufacturing issue - but it remains a very basic quality product. While the user is satisfied, I would personally prefer to pay more and get a more robust stand, for example one of the K&M stands.

A Fiddle that turns into a Chinese Puzzle.
Anonymous 07.11.2014
We bought a number of these: Startone Music Stands, which come in a choice of 3 colours, Red; Blue & Black. It's a bit of a fiddle when it comes to erecting, & folding it up. Just as you think you've got the hang of it, frustratingly it turns into a Chinese Puzzle again. You normally find that you get what you pay for & although it is quite well made for the money, it lets itself down in its practicality of use. It is light in weight & does fold down into a handy, portable size. It would be usefull if it came with a cover to pop it into when not in use, or on the move, but for the money you couldn't expect one. All-in-All, if you are able to leave it erected most of the time, then it's a good buy, but if you have to erect it & fold it down regularly & can afford to, then pay pay a bit more for a more user friendly, music stand.

JR
Music stand

I think you get what you pay for here - it's cheap and serves its purpose but very flimsy and unstable. The arms for holding music in place don't really work above one sheet of music and it doesn't go as tall as some other music stands I've used. Would only recommend if you can't afford a more robust stand.

GK
For the price its ok

Its not very stady and it feels that it could break any minute beacause of its plastic parts. But what a low price ! I only can say that it just does the job ( if you dont intend to move it too much here and there)

Good for home use
Andrei G. 12.11.2019
I use it at home fully extended with only a few pages on it, two A4 pages fit very well. It could handle more weight, but you shouldn't place a heavy book on it when extended at maximum height.
It is a little heavy, but easy to handle, nothing was stuck, the screws look durable, there are no plastic clips that could break. I used similar (but more expensive) stand for several years and this one should behave the same.

B
ok, but i broke mine
Beatriz.m 26.07.2020
It has very good stability, and a big area coverage, it supports a lot of weight and rarely moves.
Its not very light, and its not very small.
For some reason mine broke in the plastic parts that hold the high that you choose although I didn't force it.
Overall does what its supposed to do and for that price and don't ask for more.

You'll probably have to replace this at some point
WillO 05.05.2015
These aren't durable, I bought a much better stand (a Millenium-branded one) with my next order from Thomann, for only about two Euro more.

My general rule of thumb when buying from Thomann: Never buy the cheapest option, go up at least a rung or two, the quality tends to be significantly better. This goes for stands, cables, strings, drumsticks, instruments, pretty much anything.

Cheap music stand

It does the job but it is not very sturdy. Easy to adjust height and portable. Fits only 2-3 pages at a time.

U
Quality fits the price
UserBXL 18.09.2019
Poor materials; the knobs and screws fall apart; very fragile; difficult to assemble and dissemble. So why three stars? Well, I can't expect much more form the price: it opens; it holds the papers, it's small and relatively light, and after a bit of tweaking, it holds. At home I have another stand, more sturdy, but when on the move, this is fine. I've never used it outdoors, but indoors in a rehearsal place, it does the trick.
