Startone SFL-55 Flute

I bought this for my wife who had a Chezch flute before since her childhood, and that flute is very very used, the pads are almost fully worn, have holes in them, etc. I hoped this one will be a great substitute, but it disappointed. The low voices just do not come out of it. We took it to service 3-4 times, but it did not really get better. The sound of it is much less powerful/cool as the old Czech flute, the quality of the parts is also lacking. Honestly the best part of this flute is the sturdy and very nice case.

This flute was bought for a beginner and it did absolutely perfect.
For the price its a steal especially for someone who is starting out, like most things you need to start somewhere so i would recommend this to anyone starting out.

It's not for professional use, it's for a hobby.

Doesn't have the best sound but it is very good sounding flute.
For the price it costs if you don't have much money it's a buy.

You can use it for professional recording but there are some much better.
I would record it and do some sound modifying in the pc.

As a student flute I can honestly say it is mediocre. However the price is so low that to expect anything else would be wishful thinking. Its ok for a toot, maybe 'Knights in White Satin'! but don't expect too much. The old saying is- Buy Cheap and you Buy Twice.

low price can be deceiving, it's not bad to be very cheap, allows you to start playing an instrument like this and does not lack anything, it's well done, it also has a case well made and sounds very good, really compliments, recommended to everyone who wants to start playing the flute but can not or do not want to spend too much

Good instrument for an absolute beginner. Sound is acceptable and mechanism is fine. I think a student could probably play up to grade two with this instrument before needing to change to a more intermediate flute.

Good mechanics, stable keys. So far no black stains or oxide whatsoever. The sound is nice and clear.
The only potential problem is, that the head joint is not fitting firmly enough into the body and ons has to be careful to avoid rotation during the play. Otherwise is an optimal instrument in its price range.

I always wanted to learn to play the flute. I didn't want to spend too much money in case I didn't take to it so it is a good quality instrument to start on.
