This is a good mallet for the soprano xylophone, but also for the soprano and alto glockenspiel.
It bounces beautifully on the xylophone owing to its lightness and the material of the head.
Used on the glockenspiel it produces a round tone that is utterly pleasant and peaceful, with hardly any metallic overtone (unlike the Studio 49 S1).
This mallet's weak feature is its handle: it is made of pliable tube and is very vulnerable in the hands of unconsiderate players. This is why I rated it overall 4 stars.
Perhaps Studio 49 could reconsider the handle?
