Excellent

I previously owned the Superlux HD-660, and I wanted another pair, but they were discontinued. Until I discovered that THESE (the 660 pro) dropped. I ordered immediately to see what they're all about.

These are more of a middle ground for recording/mixing, since they have a tiny bit more bleed.
But the pay-off is big. You can wear these for hours and feel zero irritation. Very soft and cozy feeling on the ear.
They're a tad bit brighter, but they also respond a bit better at the sub-bass frequencies. And also, the original 660s were also giving me a bit too much around the 600-1000hz area, whereas these don't. So, you could say these are a bit more V-Shaped, in comparison.

I enjoy listening to these more, and wearing them for longer hours too. And they're absolutely fine for recording too. The bleed levels are STILL comparable even to the DT-770s.

If you don't wanna spend much and still get a comfortable, great &bright sounding pair of headphones, look no further :)

Decent budget headpones
technically_not 25.07.2024
I bought these as well as the t.bone HD 815 headphones which are in a very similar price bracket. I also own a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros that are about three times the price! These are clearly trying to copy the Beyerdynamics in design.

Sound quality: They're pretty decent, especially for tracking. They don't have much sub-bass reproduction, so they miss a bit of punch compared to both the other two. They are quite bright though, with lots of clarity in the high end. Sometimes it's a bit much, with the sound coming across a little bit brittle and harsh in some situations. The soundstage is wider than the t.bones, but nowhere near as expansive and detailed as the beyerdynamics. They work well for classical especially, but they're pretty decent for everything unless you want loads of punch out of your basslines. The sound isolation is as good as the beyerdynamics.

Build: Mostly great for the price. All the materials feel good quality and robust. I think the cable feels a little flimsy, I suspect the actual conductors inside the cable are very thin, which might lead to durability issues if these get shoved inside a bag regularly. There's a couple of hard edges on the pieces that connect the headband to the speakers, but the biggest complaint is the shiny plastic on the lower half of each speaker enclosure: it feels fine, but looks cheap and is an absolute fingerprint magnet. It's a really annoying feature of an otherwise well designed pair of headphones.

Comfort: Nearly as good as the beyerdynamics, which are the most comfortable pair of headphones I have ever worn. Absolutely no complaints here, you could wear these for a long time and not have any complaints.

Overall: A decent pair of headphones, which if you prefer an analytical sound that borders on harsh over a somewhat muddy sound would be a good choice over the t.bones.

Feedback on Superlux HD660 PRO from NoVo REC
Andrey Kovrizhnykh 20.01.2021
I received these headphones, I liked the packaging very much, there is a good case inside. The headphones themselves are very light, the ear pads are velor, the bass in the headphones is heard very well, the middle is not very clear, but the frequency response is transmitted correctly. They sit comfortably on the head, you can work in them for a long time. When recording on a condenser microphone, the phonogram is not released outside; they are well suited for recording vocals and singing along with a phonogram. I made a detailed review of them on my youtu.be/XtVKONzrvNg channel. I told everything how they work at home. Of the shortcomings, this is not a very high-quality arc, it has a cheap leatherette, metal fasteners are not polished, you can cut yourself, the wiring is flimsy, but it will go for that kind of money. Thank you Thomann for the good packaging, I am satisfied.

Ok for the money
TERD 12.03.2023
Based on the looks I guess these are supposed to be some kind of DT-770 clone??? The sound is not even remotely as good. The Beyers have much better detail, depth, soundstage and FAR better low extension but I guess this is to be expected at this price.

I guess they're ok for the money but if you want GOOD headphones you'll have to spend more money.

On the positive side they seem to be reasonably sturdy and the cord is nowhere near as fragile as on certain other Superlux headphones. They also sit comfortably on my head.

They will do the job as tracking headphones in my studio. Cheap and easily replaced when a musicians sits/steps on them.

Reading reviews on the internet is misleading
Many have same nick name 12.08.2021
A great disappointment. I had seen and read many reviews before I ordered so I expected much better quality to that price.

The metal part on the arc and the black attachment knobs are very sharp, it feels like it cuts my finger when handling it.
The arc does not press the speakers affordable against the head. On the upper side it pushes well against my head but at the lower part it becomes space between the speaker and head. I have 58cm head circumference so that's not the problem.

GREAT SOUNDING HEADPHONES!
3rty6ix Raps 01.09.2023
This headphones are really good for anybody who's just starting out. I really got to hear staff that i could hear on my other headphones and speakers.
The sound separation is so great. And you can put these on for a long time and feel no pressure. They are over-ear so good for Tracking as well when recording. I do my own recording, mixing and mastering, i just know that these will bring much improvement to my mixes.
All love from Namibia.

BJ
Comfortable and clear.
Blue Jinn 22.08.2023
Set I purchased have noticeable distortion on left side which makes them useless. They are very very comfortable and I may take a chance on another set, as they are the most comfortable low cost headphones I've tried, and they do sound very good in the right side.

EDIT: Thomann stand behind their products and sent a replacement. As I hoped, the replacement did not have the issue with the left side.

Pros:
-Very comfortable. More comfortable than Beyerdynamic DT880s which cost 5x more, more comfortable and better sounding than the Tascam TH200 I also have that are in the same price range but 32 ohm and heavier on the bass. The DT880s sound slightly better, but that could be confirmation bias given the price, although they are designed for transparency. I bought the Superlux for tracking, and they are excellent for that purpose.
-very clear and detailed
-well isolated, I'm using these in my basement "studio" and they are quiet for the outside, and sufficiently noise cancelling as well for my purposes
-for casual listening they sound really good on a quality vintage receiver with the loudness (bass boost) engaged at a comfortable listening volume
All round great deal considering the low price.

Cons:
-did have the one with a bad channel. After the replacement set arrived, I took the bad side apart. One connection was held together with shrink tubing but not soldered. I soldered the connecting wire, and that solved the problem. So again, QA was an issue at first. Otherwise a very good sounding headphone at this price point.

Amazing for the price
JayDawg 07.03.2021
These are very comfortable to wear. They also sound good and have more than enough volume on my Audient iD4. I use them for recording electric guitar and it works great, very little sound bleed. The wire isn't too thick and there is a thin little wire on the headset itsetlf. For now it works fine, I hope it will stay like that but I'll have to be careful with the wires.

Good Sound but cheap build
Shane H 08.12.2022
Had these for over a year and one of the speakers are making a horrible cracking sound in the low end. Poor build quality but great sound. For the price they are worth it even if just for a year
