I play with the Tama Iron Cobra double pedal and finally the spring it came with snapped after one too many blast beat. This spring is incredibly high quality, shows no sign of wear or tear since I've been using it and the added tension really suits my playing style. If you don't play faster/heavier styles of drumming then this might not be the best replacement spring, but for metal and punk drummers this is a must have.

Tama Heavy Tension Spring
mazz 28.05.2013
The day I got this spring I tightened it as far as my pedal would allow (Iron Cobra Single Pedal). This means that I am going to have to replace it before too long which is rather frustrating. When I first bought my pedal some years ago the spring tension was perfect and I could keep tightening it as it wore. But for some reason the new springs are not as tight. This may or may not be a problem to other users. Also a little guidance on how get a heavy spring on in the first place would be really useful as I had to use a vice.

Tense as family christmas dinner
Anonymous 05.11.2015
I recently aquired these springs after reading somewhere that in order to play proper speedmetal you'd need to have you double kickers as tense as humanly possible.
These bad boys certainly do the trick. More tense than Christmas dinner at my aunts house, you?ll be sure to blastbeat here to high heaven when using these. Remember to put the tension to maximum possible, of course.

Springy
Anonymous 02.09.2014
title is not a word i think...
this is not rocket science, it's a spring, the heavy version and I bought 2, and as I said it's just a spring, one of them feels a bit lighter and I guess it's not something that can be tested before goes out to be sold, but now when adjusting the tension you have to apply different tension for each pedal!
a bit noisy too... and springy... :)

The original spring on the HP50 pedal is kinda loose, this fixed it perfectly.

extremely resistant
Anonymous 26.11.2015
I wasn't expecting it to be as resistant, but it is. The ones who came with my double pedal broke really fast, then I bought two of these and they are in use up to today, amazing.

Good function, but not durable enough for the heaviest of hitters.
Anonymous 12.03.2015
I bought one of these when I had this perticular model broken on my Tama Speed Cobra. This happened because I had the springs cranked ALL the way down.
Pros: -Feels superb.
-With normal tensionsettings for the average drummer, these springs are not likely to break.
Cons: Heavy tensionsprings seems to be made for heavy playing, but these do not live up to their name.

Just right
David9361 23.05.2016
The heavy spring was a gamble that paid off for my pedal. It gives just the right feel on it's minimum setting so should give good service for a while when it starts to stretch out.
