So, I took delivery of this guitar and after a 4 weeks the guitar became unplayable past fret 5. The string action was very very high. I contacted Taylor directly and they began asking questions about humidity and if I had potentially caused the guitar to become damp. I shipped the guitar back to Taylor and they found it to be beyond repair and defective, it should not have become damaged in this way in such a short time frame and it was dampness that had already distorted the top of the guitar. They offered a replacement but I did not want the same experience and asked them to send it directly to Thomann. I wanted a refund and Thomann took over 2 weeks to agree to a store credit instead. They were pretty poor in the whole thing actually and I am glad I had started a relationship with Taylor as soon as the guitar was delivered. Taylor score very highly for customer service over this.
As for the Taylor, it did have an amazing sound but the electronics are so sensitive that playing it amplified caused feedback at very low levels and the top picks up every tiny movement you make, wanted or unwanted. I had to roll down a big area around 150 hz in order to play this through logic without feedback and spent way too much time editing out finger slides that became obtrusive in a recording. I can't see how it could ever be played live.
Be aware and read up on Taylors and humidity, it is an issue. I live in S. of France, not Scotland......It should not have been an issue.
Lesson - don't buy entry level, it's 1000 Euros cheaper than the next models for a reason.
