Great instrument - average sound

I had this item on my wish list for two years already. Convinced myself to finally buy it. The pedal is well-packed and well crafted, no complaints. They really know their job at tech21. But on other hand, my way cheaper preamp I had originally, does absolutely the same job and provides almost the same sound. Also, the absence of the headphones output is a bummer.
