Still seeingif it fits my purposes
Kikodasneves 14.12.2024
Bought this to amplify my electric archtop guitar in addition to the electric pickup sound. The microphone sounds great recorded, not like a really good large diaphragm microphone, but still very good and serviceable. However, when I try to plug into my acoustic amp, I get really intense high frequency feedback at really LOW volumes. So I’m not sure if I will be able to use it live, I have to try it in a gig situation. I’d say probably not because the volume I can get out of it before feedback is pretty much just a bit louder than the unplugged guitar.

Good mic for price but physically bigger than expected
DaveScot 17.05.2023
I bought this mic as a better alternative to the Ovid series which I also have. (The Ovid is OK and sounds good on most instruments but the quality is lacking - I already broke one and I worry about the thin cable etc.) This mic is noticeably higher quality in the build with a proper replaceable balanced cable (Thoman sell the cable separately) using standard connectors and the mounting hardware is all metal and feels much more robust. From the frequency plot it also seems to have a wider response especially down into lower frequencies. However you should be aware that the physical size of the mic capsule is MUCH larger than the Ovid capsule. Almost twice the length for example. So it's fine on some instruments but looks kind of silly on a violin or flute. The reason it's larger is that the electronics are mounted with the capsule not in the XLR adapter. This is good as it means the signal going down the cable is both higher gain and also balanced to avoid interference, but it's bad because it makes the mic physically much larger. So be aware - if you value quality and robustness buy this mic, if you value discreteness and size, buy the Ovid RC.

Suitable for different instruments, really nice for my flute!
Jacosalvat 23.07.2022
I've always used Dynamic Mics for the amplification of my flute, but I wanted something more flexible. It has definetely a nice quality, and with some more EQ Work even from the Mixer, or even better If you put some good Pre-Amp, this little mic from T.Bone will do de trick flawlessly.

It will always be in your bag. It's cheap, maybe a little big, but it has a wonderful sound. I just love it. Drums, winds, strings, anything can come… :)

It's great for its price. Easy to use and produces a nice sound. Its good for recording at home but I've also used it for gigs. The only complaint about quality thus far is that the rubber pieces that are attached to the clamp (that I use for the guitar) tend to come loose. Its an easy fix though to reglue them or to fascion new rubber pieces out of old bicycle tires or something like that. Overall a nice product.

Still cheap chinese mic.
Valentin giess music 23.10.2022
Looks better than the previous generation ( Ovid ) wich o also use for a year. The clip bundle feels strong.
The cable or adapter came with a noise, after 2 o 3 gigs the light cable strip and i can see the copper wire, it's about to fail on me.
Cheap, better than last gen, but not really recomended, i should have send it back on the retourner window.
Check my YouTube Chanel. I'm a real musician. Valentin giess music

Poor man's DPA
Audiomonkey 21.05.2024
So far I have used them on violin's, Cello, and guitars in concert settings. They sound slightly harsh at the top end but with a little EQ they do sound pretty good. They are a bit bigger and not as discrete as a DPA. The cable does seem a bit weak and vulnerable, but is replaceable. Great value for the money!

Great comms mic!
thhn 14.01.2023
Were actually looking for mic to attach to my headphones to be able to use them while talking, and attachable microphone niche is well... almost nonexistent. With few zip ties to attach it and cable routed through headband it does now this possibly unintended job really well!

Connected to my Scarlett Solo I didn't notice any noise from it, and voice sound quality is very pleasing.

Build quality is good, and for all tech nerds out there, it’s possible to easily disassemble its lower connector part, as well as connector cable it comes with, to integrate it inside headphones earcup.

Only It's flaw that I've noticed so far is, that cable it comes with is quite short for my use case.
